My Bus has a new friend to cruise around with! No, not the brown panel and not the new toys..... Rach's creme on creme on creme New Beetle!! Here we are very excited! I think I even closed my eyes because it's so clean! lol If she sells this one I told her to sell it to me! ;)
Springtime is here! Even though it only lasts a couple of weeks in Vegas. VWs invaded the Dam again and it was a great turnout! Our friends from Utah came down to win some awards and sell their wares. I love taking pictures of cars when they are on green grass so this show was perfect. Also that it was just my husband and I since the kids stayed with the grandparents. I didn't count all the air and water cooled but I would guesstimate around 150 VWs parked themselves at the Bicentennial Park. Viva Las Vegas Car show was also this day so we didn't get to stay as long as i wanted to. Got to walk along the downtown district and grab a bite to eat while getting in some much needed antique store shopping!
The sunset was too much to resist when I was driving my Bus so I drove it like I stole it and raced home to get my camera. These are just some of the pictures I took with my 66 and 59. FB was a buzz with pictures of the sky but I was happy to have my Bus the focus with such a beautiful backdrop. Makes you forget how hot it gets here in the summer, doesn't it. *sigh* Now could you only imagine if the ocean was in the background too!? Well, I sure could. One day.
Ah, nothing better then going to Buses By the Bridge other then to OCTO I guess. This time we stayed Friday night in a hotel and went to see the Las Vegas VW Club's campsite to experience BBB at night. It was interesting to say the least and IF we ever take a Bus down there were are going to do what are friends Richard and Suzy did and that was parking away from the drunks for some peace and quiet. Saturday morn' we ate at IHOP then went to took at the VWs which was a great turnout. Bigger then last year which this year was about 300+ Buses! Our friends Heather and Bob came from Vegas for their first car show with little Hudson! What are great way to start off a future VW driver! lol. We ate dinner at a chicken wing restaurant after helping Carole Brown with her stand at BBB for MG awareness. It was nice to meet her in person. I can't wait to go back next year hopefully with our 65 VW Bus Camper. Fingers crossed.
I can't believe it's time already to get my good friend Rachel (my only follower on here) to take our family & Bus pictures with her awesome camera! We ended up going to Floyd Lamb State park here in Las Vegas to take them. The sun was setting and thankfully it was not too windy which it was this week for our photo shoot. The peacocks were out in abundance and Rach was a great sport to do it for us even with my son's wonderful attitude. ( i pinched him i guess when i touched his arm) Many great shots that I am now going to display all over our house! Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
